Diagnostic Workup
For the house problem nobody has been able to solve.
The upstairs is hot and humid. A duct drips every summer. The system is new and the complaint is the same. Three companies have been out, and each one fixed something.
The Diagnostic Workup is where SystemIQ starts when a house has a problem and nobody can say why.
Who it is for
- Homeowners who know something is wrong with the house and do not know where to start.
- Homeowners who have already paid for repairs or new equipment and still have the problem.
- Builders with a warranty complaint that has not responded to repair.
- Environmental professionals, inspectors and attorneys who need the mechanical side of a house measured and documented by someone independent.
What happens
SystemIQ evaluates unresolved residential mechanical concerns and provides documented findings and recommendations.
What you receive
Written findings stating:
- What was measured, and how.
- What the measurements settle, including the explanations they rule out.
- What is reasoned from the measurements and not yet confirmed.
- What is still open, and the specific test capable of settling it.
- What we recommend, in order.
Where further testing is warranted, such as house or duct leakage testing, it is named, explained and priced separately. Nothing measured during the workup is repeated or charged twice.
What the workup is not
- It is not a sales visit. SystemIQ is paid for the evaluation, not for what it finds.
- It is not a repair. If a repair is the answer, the findings say so and say what the repair is.
- It is not a mold, air quality or structural assessment. Where those trades are needed we say so and refer the work out. SystemIQ has no financial relationship with the firms it refers to.
When a dispute is involved
Where findings may be used in a warranty claim or a dispute, the report contains measurements and observations only. It does not assign fault and does not offer opinions on any contractor's work. The terms are set out in a signed scope letter before the visit is scheduled.
For referring professionals
Whoever engages SystemIQ receives the findings, in full. We say at the outset who we are working for. We are glad to coordinate with an existing project team and to stay inside the mechanical question we were asked.
Tell us what the house is doing.
Send the address, what you have noticed, and what has already been tried. We will tell you whether a Diagnostic Workup is the right first step before anything is scheduled.
