Professional Services

Protect the mechanical outcome before it becomes expensive to change.

SystemIQ works with homeowners, builders, architects and project professionals on custom homes, major rebuilds, substantial renovations, and existing homes with a problem nobody has been able to solve.

We evaluate the property, the plans, the building conditions and how the home is used before recommending what should be designed, changed or corrected.

How SystemIQ can be involved

Diagnostic Workup

For the house problem nobody has been able to solve.

Humidity, condensation, rooms out of step with the rest of the house, a new system and the same old complaint. Other contractors have usually been out already. The workup is an independent evaluation and a written account of what it found.

The report is the product.

Custom Projects

Building, rebuilding or substantially renovating?

SystemIQ helps owners and their project teams make the critical mechanical decisions while there is still time to influence the outcome: mechanical space, air distribution, humidity, ventilation, filtration, future needs and serviceability.

The equipment is the result of the plan, not the beginning of it.

Builders

Independent verification across the life of the home.

Pre-drywall review, commissioning before turnover, warranty investigation after closing, and a clean handoff to the homeowner when the warranty ends. Findings go to the builder in full, including the ones showing the system is performing correctly.

We measure. We do not bid against your mechanical contractor.

We don't start with equipment. We start with the home.

A load calculation, a humidity reading, a static pressure measurement, an equipment model number and an architectural drawing are all useful information. No single one of them tells the whole story.

SystemIQ looks at how the building, the mechanical system, the site, the plans and the intended use fit together before deciding on a direction.

SystemIQ is paid for the evaluation, not for what it finds. Findings are reported in full, and the report says which statements were measured, which are reasoned from the measurements, and which are still open.

When SystemIQ involvement makes the difference

The problem keeps coming back

Repairs have been made, sometimes more than once, and the condition returns. Nobody has measured anything.

Building or rebuilding

The structure is open and the important mechanical decisions can still be made before construction limits the options.

A complex or custom home

The mechanical system needs to fit the architecture, the building and how the home will be lived in.

A professional referral

A builder, architect, environmental professional, inspector, attorney or other specialist needs the mechanical side evaluated as part of a larger matter.

Start here

The appropriate first engagement depends on the property and project requirements.

An existing home

Start with a Diagnostic Workup, followed by written findings.

About the Diagnostic Workup

A project

Start with a Project Review: a paid conversation and a review of the plans and reports available, done remotely when that is enough. A Site Assessment may follow.

How Custom Projects begin

Each step is defined and priced before it starts. The scope stops where the project needs it to stop.

From assessment to outcome

  1. 01

    Define

Establish what the home and the project require mechanically.

  2. 02

    Design

Develop the mechanical strategy and the project requirements.

  3. 03

    Protect

Keep field decisions aligned with the design as the project is built.

  4. 04

    Verify

Measure the completed work against the intended outcome.

Expertise can travel.

SystemIQ is based in Tennessee.

For regional and select travel projects, our role is defined according to the project scope, the location, the applicable requirements, and the involvement of appropriately licensed local professionals where required.

Installation, repair and service work is performed in the Chattanooga area.

Remote when that's enough. On site when the building matters.
