HVAC Second Opinion
Been told you need a new HVAC system? Measure it first.
Maybe it was a failed compressor, a leaking coil, or a flat statement that the system is done. Before you spend that kind of money, it is reasonable to want the diagnosis checked against measurements.
A second opinion from SystemIQ is a SystemIQ Evaluation: the whole system measured, the findings written down, and a plain answer about whether the readings support what you were told.

What a second opinion should be
A second opinion is only useful if it stands on its own. We do not start from the first diagnosis and look for reasons to agree or disagree with it. We measure the system the way we measure every system, then compare what we found with what you were told.
Sometimes the readings confirm it. A failed compressor is a failed compressor, and you will hear that plainly. Sometimes they point somewhere else, such as an airflow or charge condition, and the recommendation changes with them.
What the SystemIQ Evaluation measures
- Static pressure across the duct system.
- Total system airflow.
- Temperature change across the coil.
- Refrigerant charge, checked against measured superheat and subcooling in cooling season.
- Combustion on gas equipment in heating season.

What we will not do
We will not beat or match another company's quote, and we will not tell you what another contractor got wrong. The evaluation is a paid visit at the standard price, whatever the readings show. Charging the same fee either way keeps the answer independent of the outcome.
Before you decide
If replacement is the right answer, the evaluation gives you the measurements to size and specify the new system properly. If a repair is the right answer, you will know which one and why. Either way, you make the decision with the numbers in front of you.

- No. It is a SystemIQ Evaluation, a paid visit, and the price is the same whatever the readings show. Being paid for the measurement rather than for what you buy afterward is what keeps the answer independent.
- Will you beat the other quote?
- We do not price against other companies' quotes. If the evaluation shows a repair or a replacement is needed, we can quote it separately, and you are free to take the findings to anyone.
- What should I have ready?
- Whatever you were given: the written diagnosis, the quote, and any readings on it. It helps us know which question you are trying to answer.
- What if the first diagnosis was right?
- Then the report says so, with the numbers behind it, and you can go ahead knowing the money is going where it should.
